Online Education Past and Present

Online education may seem like it is something that has just developed in the last few years, but it is actually a concept that dates back a little bit longer. Online education has changed the face on how students are able to continue their higher education. In this article I will highlight the milestones that have made top online colleges what we know them as today.

There is evidence that the first use of online education dates back to the 1960s. Students were able to listen to their professor remotely without having to be in the same classroom with him. Due to this phenomenon, colleges were able to begin to see the importance of such advances.

The next major advance came with universities allowing the use of distance education. Distance education allowed students to use resources outside of campus to complete their course work. This ranged from computer usage to job training. As this trend grew many colleges developed programs that allowed students to use distance education. This also worked with correspondence schooling. Many were able to work from home but send their materials in to be graded via mail. The University of Phoenix became the first online college to offer correspondence classes.

Employers jumped on the bandwagon and started offering their employees similar training seminars. By combining them and using these resources, employers were able to see a little bit of a savings.
Then we had the World Wide Web open all other barriers that stood in the way. Because of the internet it is now possible to earn your degree while lying in bed. Don’t underestimate how much time and effort it actually takes though. Online education is known to be just as hard as receiving a traditional degree. However, it allows students a chance to make their own schedule while they live their normal lives.

Now that you know the history, it is time for you to do some research and find the right online college for you. Most every school has what you are looking for. It is now your job to find the type that fits your personal needs and can fit in your schedule. After you are able to choose your school, you can sit on your couch in your pajamas and not have to fight traffic to get anywhere. Amazing right? The only person stopping you is you. Cracking The Banking Probationary Officers Exam

Banks – one of the most preferred career destinations in recent times. The entrance exams are conducted either by the individual banks or by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) for 19 public sector banks.

Banks are institutions which help in managing funds. It is the preferred destination for many youngsters for the security and growth that it provides. Youngsters who aspire to work their way into one of the leading banks of the country must start their preparation from college. We learn many concepts while in college which is very useful when we have to attempt the exam and even after.

With so much to study, we all look out for some tips and suggestions which one can use. Well, here are some to help you crack the exams with ease.

1. Syllabus and pattern of the exam – every bank has a different pattern which they follow. Keep your knowledge base updated by looking into the previous year’s question paper. This will give you a brief idea of the pattern and the way in which questions are asked. The syllabus may mostly be the same since the exam is for a probationary officer, but it would be a good idea if you can keep track of any change in the syllabus.

2. Preparation – the next step is to start preparing. The main criterion here is that you have to be very sound in mathematics, which is where all the business revolves around. Being good at the concepts can make it easier for you to practice; else you will have to devote extra time to understand the concepts thoroughly. Calculating mentally is also one area which any person needs to improve on to be able to crack the exams easily.

3. Manage time – one of the tips given to students to crack any exam is ‘time management’. Time is a crucial component in preparation. If you spend more time in doing calculations in paper, you will tend to lose out on precious time. Mental calculations can help in speeding the process of answering. Effective time management is required to help you attempt all the sections in the paper.

4. Do not spend more time on a specific question – some people have the habit of spending time on a particular question till he/she solves it. Spending more time results in losing time, thereby unable to complete answering all the questions in the paper.
